Natural cosmetics – Beauty from Nature

More and more women are turning to selected organic products to care for their body and face. Organic is clearly on trend, a demolition of the bio-cosmetic wave is not in sight. No wonder, because our skin loves to be cared for with natural raw materials. Natural cosmetics have been on the market for many years. Whereas in recent decades mainly certain customer groups have been interested in natural cosmetics, there has been a veritable rush of organic cosmetics for a few years now. The new awareness of personal care with organic products has also made itself felt in the industry: Many companies offer cosmetics that bear the name of organic or eco.

Is bio really organic in biocosmetics?

But beware, not everywhere, where organic is on it, is really organic in it. Important to know: Natural cosmetics are not defined by law and there is no binding uniform quality seal.

In return, a lot of the organic quality labels invented by the industry adorn various cosmetics and care products, which can easily lead you astray when shopping. Instead of ingredients from certified organic cultivation, these products often contain a smorgasbord of chemicals.

Quality seal in organic cosmetics

However, in the course of the past years, seals have emerged that are trustworthy and that, from the cultivation of raw materials to the processing of the ingredients, are in line with the original idea of biocosmetics.

For this purpose, among other things, the quality seal “NaTrue” by the industry association body care and detergents and the seal “Controlled natural cosmetics” by the Federation of German industrial and commercial enterprises to classify.

Also a high-quality feature for organic cosmetics is “EcoCert”, a French organization dedicated to the control and certification of organic products.

The plus of organic cosmetics

Because “real” organic care is characterized by two pluses: through selected raw materials, this cosmetics is better tolerated for our skin than conventional products – at the same time it is environmentally friendly. The traditional manufacturers of natural cosmetics guarantee that no overexploitation was carried out on the nature, and animal experiments were carried out for the cosmetics. So organic care is not only active for the balance of our skin but also for our environment.

Gentle care guaranteed

Our skin is exposed to daily stress from harmful environmental influences and also from our way of life. And though the skin is our largest organ and has its own defense against foreign bodies, it needs gentle handling and gentle care. Many of the chemicals contained in conventional cosmetics, however, add to the skin additionally.

With the appropriate organic care, however, the intrinsic activity of our skin can revitalize and support. Above all, one thing should not be forgotten: our skin also absorbs substances from the outside, which then transports them into the interior of our body. One more reason to pay attention to what exactly we give to our skin.

Organic cosmetics: free of chemicals?

Organic care has the claim of the complete abandonment of chemicals. As ingredients for natural cosmetics taboo are among others the following substances:

paraffins

glycerine

synthetic colors, fragrances and preservatives

silicones

benzyl alcohol

Just preservatives are known as malefactors to trigger allergies. In addition, the chemical additives can clog the pores and attack the skin’s own protective barrier.

But you should be aware that care products without chemistry also have a shorter shelf life. So that you enjoy your natural cosmetics for a long time, it is helpful to use a spatula instead of using your own fingers to get into the cream. Then the danger is relatively high, dirt in the cream to bring – by the lack of chemical preservatives, the cream could then quickly “tip over” and would be no longer to use.

Another tip for dealing with organic care: Even though natural cosmetics are more tolerated by the skin, allergies may occasionally occur. The skin can indeed react directly to the natural raw materials and plant extracts.

You can first apply a small amount of the new care product in the crook of the arm, here the skin is thin and sensitive. If no reactions have been noticed after about 24 hours on the skin, you can expect a good compatibility of the cosmetics for you.
